Welcome to the main Gibraltar story thread.  Please feel free to post thoughts and/or feedback regarding my stories here.

My series follows the missions of the USS Gibraltar, a Constitution-class starship that was mothballed in the late 23rd century and was resurrected during the Dominion War to serve as an escort and patrol vessel.  Though significantly updated from her original specs, Gibraltar is over 90 years old and is outmatched by most modern vessels.  Her crew is an average one, and definitely not the best or brightest ever assembled.  Many times, the crew of Gibraltar must try and avoid or cheat their way out of situations that larger, more capable starships might overcome or outrun.

Captain Sandhurst and his crew find themselves assigned to escort and patrol duties in and around post-war occupied Cardassian space.  They must struggle to maintain the hard-won peace in the chaotic and challenging years following the Dominion War, striving to keep Starfleet and the Federation's ideals alive during a dark chapter of the Federation's history.

Hi Sam!

Just dropped by to show the flag and say thanks for contributing towards the 2008 Twelve Trek Days of Christmas. The ultimate irony of my job is that I'm so busy getting other people's work online that I don't have the time to enjoy it myself!

Which is a real bug-bear in this case because your premise intrigues me, I've always liked the type of story that shows realistic heroism - people accomplishing extraordinary things by overcoming their limitations.

Thanks for the kind words, Kirok!  I'm looking forward to seeing Embers of the Fire as one of the offerings for the Twelve Days of Christmas.  ;D  I'm grateful to have been selected as one of the contributing authors.

Thanks, BSG-Phoenix!  I hope you read the ones posted to Ad Astra... they're much more polished than the originals posted here years back.  :)

I very much appreciate the kinds words.

Afternoon Sam,

I was rereading the Gibraltar series and noticed that you have a young ensign carrying my RL's last name... Umm was this a slight tip of the hat to me for enjoying all of the wonderful tales? :o
